Snorkeling in Hanauma Bay

This was probably my favorite day from our time in Hawaii! I’ve been here before as a kid so I thought snorkeling would be a piece of cake, but my mask was leaking so my nose would fill up with water which made me hold my breath instead of breathing through the snorkel and then I would come up for air and drain my mask…and I kept doing this and Jake and I were cracking up for like 20 minutes. lol We finally switched masks and then everything was fine.

Anyways, we saw so many beautiful fish, I would grab Jake and point at each new fish I saw! The Humuhumus are my favorite but probably not Jakes favorite because one of them literally swam full force right into Jakes mask like it was trying to head butt him or something haha He claims an eel also tried to eat him but I never saw it…lol  We basically spent the whole time laughing and in awe of all the beauty and it was just a really really wonderful day.

Also if you are looking for an underwater phone case, I have this one and it works great! And if you are wondering how the sound/speaker works with the case on, I haven’t noticed any problems at all, everyone can still hear me when talking on the phone and music plays just fine πŸ™‚

Hope you are having a great week!

A Swim with Wild Sea Turtles

For Christmas Jake bought me a leather journal to write about all our travel adventures. The feeling of being able to re-read our memories of different places, knowing that it was authentically written in that place and time…well I just love it πŸ™‚ So here is a journal entry from our time in Hawaii!

Oahu, Hawaii // 5-25-17

Today we went to Haleiwa on the North Shore. Im not sure the name of the beach but we swam with turtles! It was magical! πŸ™‚ I saw at least 5 of themΒ and they swam right up to us and around us and we just floated next to them. They are so cute and calm. It was an amazing experience that I hope to have again someday!

Jake and I also went for a walk along the beach and found some tide pools and explored around there for a while and after we all went to Matsumoto shaved ice which was super yummy!

Happy Wednesday friends!

Aloha Lanikai Beach

The beach from my memories, the one my mom grew up with and the first place we stopped after landing on Oahu. Lanikai. It always feels like home even though I’ve never lived here. My soul longs for the sun, the sand, and the sea, so the past 9 days have been amazing and refreshing. This was the first day and shortly after we got plate lunch and then headed to my Auntie Corey’s house. After that we napped because we were so tired from the 3 hour time difference, but on the upside we woke up early everyday! I have lots more photos and fun things to share so make sure you subscribe by entering your email address and hitting the subscribe button below πŸ™‚ that way you won’t miss anything good!

ps. You can shop my swimsuit here, it fits super well and is under $20 πŸ™‚

Places I’m excited to visit!

If you have been bitten by the travel bug, love beautiful photos, or just wanted to know what one of my favorite hobbies is then you came to the right place πŸ™‚ I love love love to plan travel itineraries. I love looking up places to stay, places to eat, things to do, things to see, and when are the best times, or cheapest times to travel to each location. I love pricing everything out from how much meals would be per day to the prices of transportation. And I love the challenge of finding the cheapest flights. I started doing this in 2012 when I swore to myself that I was going to start traveling. Well… life happened and here we are 5 years later and I still haven’t caught any of those flights, stayed in any of the hotels, or visited any of my dream destinations. Its 2017 now and its as good a time as any to quit letting life just happen to me and to start living it. Im tired of looking back and saying “gosh I wish I would have just bought the damn tickets”. I’m tired of second guessing and over thinking every decision. It’s time to make my dreams my reality. Jake says this post is too sad, and maybe it is, but it makes me excited because my life is about to change πŸ™‚

SO here are my Top 5 Destinations that have been in the works for the past several years!

Santorini, Greece

Santorini looks so magical and romantic to me. Definitely my #1 choice to travel to with Jake. Not to mention how intrigued I am about the way they built this city into a mountain. I can’t wait to stay in a cave house. Preferably that pink one! πŸ™‚

Oahu, Hawaii

My Mom actually grew up on Oahu so she took my brother and I on vacation there a few summers while we were kids and I think a piece of me never left. It always felt like home and seeing pictures only reassures me that its time to make my way back.

Paris, France

Its Paris. Its classic. Its a must.

Italy

Every picture of Italy looks like the MOST beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Positano and Cinque Terre specificaly. Also, give me all the pizza, gelato, and turquoise water!

Banff, Canada

This place is gorgeous! I can’t imagine never seeing it in person. And taking my own photos of this lake. Can you say fairy tale?!

Well there they are! My top 5 dream destinations as of today (It will probably change tomorrow haha) I hope to see all these places at some point in my lifetime, and in the meantime they are definitely being planned πŸ™‚

xoxo
