Sutter’s Fort

Here are some pictures from the day we left for Boston. We decided to leave a little early or a lot early….so we randomly decided to make a pit stop at Sutter’s Fort. Being there reminded me of when we studied missions in 4th grade and getting to make a model of mission Nuestra SeΓ±ora de la Soledad. I was really into molding clay so I remember making little apple trees and people out of clay. I also remember my Dad insisting that it had a shingle roof and he ended up cutting like 200 shingles out of cardboard and gluing them on individually and I kept thinking “gosh that seems like a lot of work” lol πŸ™‚ thanks Dad!

Walks to Town

Jake and I have been walking to town once or twice a week and its been so nice. I like the fresh air and how it slows the day down. Plus I count it as exercise because there are a few hills πŸ™‚ We like to go to the library, book store, and to get lunch occasionally. Recently we tried Christopher’s deli and its a place that I think tends to be overlooked but it was really good. I thought the mac and cheese was excellent!

I have been wearing this cardigan non stop lately because its super warm and soft. The other day Jake called it my hobo coat lol because I guess he thinks it looks like something a bum would wear. Any ways I proceeded to tell him that I actually get tons of compliments on it and literally right after that we walked into a store and someone complimented me and asked where I got it. πŸ™‚ I guess maybe it was funnier if you were there.

Hope you are having a great weekend! I will be making a packing list for our upcoming trip! We are so so SO excited!!

Current Makeup Favorites

Growing up I was never interested in make up. Unless you count Lip Smackers (remember those?) because I always had about 172 different flavors of that stuff πŸ™‚ but seriously, besides for wearing mascara to school dances I never wore ANY make up. But over the last 2 years I’ve come to really enjoy discovering and trying new brands and products. So today I’m sharing with you my current makeup favorites that I’ve really been loving!

POREfessionalΒ – Hands down my absolute favorite make up product ever. It’s the first thing I put on because it does an excellent job of smoothing out your face so your foundation doesn’t sink into your pores. ps. It smells divine!

Hello Flawless Liquid FoundationΒ – This foundation is great for if you are wanting a lighter and brighter coverage. It has SPF 25 and I love that it doesn’t take away from my natural look. (I also have this foundation for days that I want a fuller coverage and its great as well) And I use this Brush to apply my foundation and it works super well!

Tarte Pro Glow Palette – My most recent purchase that I fell in love with after one use. The whole thing is awesome and It includes my favorite highlighter to date called “Burst” Its the best!

The last two are awesome because you can get them at Target and they are this mascara and this blush! I don’t wear blush all the time but I wanted to include this one because its so pretty. And thats all I wear when I do decide to do my make up which is pretty much Tuesdays and Thursdays because those are the days I go to school haha πŸ™‚

The Cutest Wooden Signs For 50% Off

1Β 2 3 4 5 6 7

It has been pouring down rain here non stop and it even snowed yesterday for a bit! Which means lots of time indoors, which means I am finally starting to decorate our house. We hung our first piece of wall decor above our bed and I just love it, its so flippin cute! Jake and I were browsing in Hobby LobbyΒ and I get so overwhelmed in this store because I love everything and want to take it all home. We were on probably like our 15th isle of wall decor/ signs and Jake hadn’t liked one single thing I had pointed out and then he casually walks past this sign and says “I like that one”Β Β and keeps walking.Β I instantly loved it and knew it would be perfect! I snatched it up and saw it was 50% off and then quickly realized pretty much all signs in the store were on sale! πŸ™‚ We had to get out right then and there because thats dangerous. lol

So I put together a bunch of my favorites and they are all 50% off and so so darling! Im obsessed with the “Adventure Awaits” for the living room or a baby room πŸ™‚ and the “Yum.” I want for my kitchen!

Happy Friday! Stay warm!

With love,

Lindsay

Places I’m excited to visit!

If you have been bitten by the travel bug, love beautiful photos, or just wanted to know what one of my favorite hobbies is then you came to the right place πŸ™‚ I love love love to plan travel itineraries. I love looking up places to stay, places to eat, things to do, things to see, and when are the best times, or cheapest times to travel to each location. I love pricing everything out from how much meals would be per day to the prices of transportation. And I love the challenge of finding the cheapest flights. I started doing this in 2012 when I swore to myself that I was going to start traveling. Well… life happened and here we are 5 years later and I still haven’t caught any of those flights, stayed in any of the hotels, or visited any of my dream destinations. Its 2017 now and its as good a time as any to quit letting life just happen to me and to start living it. Im tired of looking back and saying “gosh I wish I would have just bought the damn tickets”. I’m tired of second guessing and over thinking every decision. It’s time to make my dreams my reality. Jake says this post is too sad, and maybe it is, but it makes me excited because my life is about to change πŸ™‚

SO here are my Top 5 Destinations that have been in the works for the past several years!

Santorini, Greece

Santorini looks so magical and romantic to me. Definitely my #1 choice to travel to with Jake. Not to mention how intrigued I am about the way they built this city into a mountain. I can’t wait to stay in a cave house. Preferably that pink one! πŸ™‚

Oahu, Hawaii

My Mom actually grew up on Oahu so she took my brother and I on vacation there a few summers while we were kids and I think a piece of me never left. It always felt like home and seeing pictures only reassures me that its time to make my way back.

Paris, France

Its Paris. Its classic. Its a must.

Italy

Every picture of Italy looks like the MOST beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Positano and Cinque Terre specificaly. Also, give me all the pizza, gelato, and turquoise water!

Banff, Canada

This place is gorgeous! I can’t imagine never seeing it in person. And taking my own photos of this lake. Can you say fairy tale?!

Well there they are! My top 5 dream destinations as of today (It will probably change tomorrow haha) I hope to see all these places at some point in my lifetime, and in the meantime they are definitely being planned πŸ™‚
