August favorites

This month Jake and I discovered Trader Joes. And by discover I mean we have obviously heard of it before and I think I have even been in one once, but this time we actually shopped there and bought one of almost everything. So far it has not disappointed. My favorites are the Gnocchi(gorgonzola and the sorrentina are both delicious), the chicken potstickers, the raspberry and cream popsicles, “Inner Peas” and their blood orange soda. The Gnocchi is my new favorite food and favorite go to meal because its so quick. I just add frozen peas during the last 2 minutes of heating (you know to balance out the meal) and its pretty much the yummiest mac and cheese ever!

We also bought a PS4 because hello CRASH BANDICOOT! Basically the best game ever was remastered and is the original 3 games all on one disc. Its awesome.

As for what I’m watching…obviously Game of Thrones because I’m always watching or re-watching that show. Just finished the season 3 finale again and loving it because I feel like thats the season when things really start to pick up. The other show that I was pleasantly surprised by was Ozark which is on Netflix. It is so so good!

I started listening to audio books in the car, since we commute for school. Ive been listening to “The Subtle Art of not giving a Fuck” and I really like it so far.

I’m reading Game of Thrones to fill the void until the next season comes out. Its a whole new experience, reading compared to watching.

Last is this rose gold necklaceย from Made by Mary. Its my favorite necklace ever! Super cute and you can have them personalized to make them extra special ๐Ÿ™‚

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Red Plaid

Walking through the city of Boston was so fun but so cold! Im so glad I had mittens, boots, and this coat! Unfortunately it is sold out but I will link a similar one here. We stopped at the Boston museum of science and spent a few hours there. We filmed a lot while we were there so I’m hoping to make a vlog soon! I think this was Jakes favorite part because it was so interactive. He got to hold a brain! Kind of gross but kind of cool, I can’t decide.

We had the best food this day too! We went to a restaurant called Al Dente. I got the chicken soup with homemade tortellini and it was delicious. I also had the best slice of cheese pizza I’ve ever eaten, from the train station of all places! It was perfect and I’m wishing I had a large all to myself at this very moment!

Sutter’s Fort

Here are some pictures from the day we left for Boston. We decided to leave a little early or a lot early….so we randomly decided to make a pit stop at Sutter’s Fort. Being there reminded me of when we studied missions in 4th grade and getting to make a model of mission Nuestra Seรฑora de la Soledad. I was really into molding clay so I remember making little apple trees and people out of clay. I also remember my Dad insisting that it had a shingle roof and he ended up cutting like 200 shingles out of cardboard and gluing them on individually and I kept thinking “gosh that seems like a lot of work” lol ๐Ÿ™‚ thanks Dad!

Friday Four // Boston edition

One. This little boy. He’s the happiest little ham. And have you ever seen anything as cute as a baby chomping on a baguette? Nope didn’t think so ๐Ÿ™‚

Two. Visiting family! We had such a great time hanging out with family and exploring a new city. We can’t wait to go back!

Three. Coffee. Suddenly I like coffee. Which is very, VERY unlike me. And not just coffee but cold brewed espresso with cream and sugar. mmmmm ๐Ÿ™‚

Four. I can’t wait to see Jake as a dad ๐Ÿ™‚ I can hardly handle him with our nephew, I don’t even know what my heart will do when its our own baby!

Farewell Massachusetts! We will see you soon!

Winter Striped Peplum

Shirt // Leggings //ย Boots

While we were in Massachusetts we stopped at this cute little dairy farm called Richardson’s and saw baby cows ๐Ÿ™‚ They raise all their own cows and make the ice cream right there. My strawberry cheese cake ice cream was literally so good even though it was freezing outside already!

In the winter I pretty much can only be caught wearing black leggings or some sort of yoga pants. I just want to be comfy and warm! BUT I also want to look cute so I like to pair cute tops and boots with my leggings ๐Ÿ™‚ I love peplum tops because they just have that extra something thats a little more fancy than regular T’s. And these boots I fell in love with as soon as I tried them on at Nordstrom Rack which has been my jam lately. In store I thought they looked dark green but outside in the sunlight they look a little more brownish green. Basically I think they are a good neutral color that will go with anything so I’m stoked about them!

With love,

Lindsay
